Several years ago, my dad gave me a box of 8mm film reels along with some old projectors and a Super 8 camera. I made several attempts to convert these family videos to a digital format with very limited success. Recently, I heard about Shawn’s company, Flip Flop Productions, and knew that this was the answer to my dilemma. Shawn explained that each of the small film reels contained 3 minutes of video, and he would convert them all to digital format using some new equipment he had recently acquired. A few days later, I heard from Shawn that my project was complete. The results are absolutely fantastic! I couldn’t be more pleased. I ended up with just over 2 hours of video, and Shawn even added a musical soundtrack (these old film reels didn’t have audio). I’ve had so much fun watching these videos, and being able to show my kids video of my early years!! There were even several clips of my paternal grandparents, who my wife and children never got to meet. If you have some old film reels around the house, take them to Flip Flop Productions, you never know what treasures they may reveal. I have known Shawn for a few years as we worked together at Best Buy, and I can assure you that he is very detail oriented, enjoys technology, and is one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet! I just found another box of film reels that appear to have been taken by my maternal grandfather. I can’t wait to get them to Shawn and see the results! Thanks Shawn Johnson/Flip Flop Productions....you rock!! - T. Mott
